• There will be a new theme song for episodes 24 and 25 of CODE GEASS called Hitomi no Tsubasa by access. The song is already being played on the airwaves in Japan, so copies of the full version are floating around the Internet. If you have a Nico Nico account, you can listen to it here, and someone has also put a fan-made opening sequence with that song onto Youtube. I’ve listened to the song several dozen times now and although it started off sounding like an average T.M.Revolution song, I really like it now. The song goes on sale July 4th as part of access’ binary engine album.
  • Despite the special premieres announcement from last month, there is still no official television air-date for episodes 24 and 25. I believe speculation and sources place the time in early August, but again, no official word. There have been, however, quite a lot of spoilers, much of the former courtesy of anime magazines. According to Celiss Galvea, the confirmed spoilers are:
    Show Spoiler ▼

  • Speaking of which, the latest batch of magazines – Newtype, Hobby Japan, Animedia – have some very nice covers. The one pictured above is the spread from July’s edition of Newtype, and you can find scans of the others here. I especially liked the CLAMP-drawn cover of Newtype and the one of C.C. from the July edition of Hobby Japan.
  • And finally, some other CLAMP related news. A lot of people have been asking me about what happened to the next season of Tsubasa Chronicle since this spring season passed us by without the third series. There’s been a lot of speculation about whether it was because the next part of the story was too violent or because CLAMP was unhappy with the production or whatnot. In any case, it was announced today (sort of) that Tsubasa will be getting a special OVA called Tsubasa TOKYO REVELATIONS. I say “sort of” because publisher Kodansha originally posted the image of the manga’s volume 19 cover on their website with the announcement attached, but they have since taken that image down. Based on what was seen before the image was removed, the OVA will supposedly be available through purchasing volumes 21 to 23 of the manga, but details are still sketchy and will probably become clearer once there is an official announcement.

    1. Gasp, news on both code geass and tsubasa!? wicked ;D
i like the pic you posted, kinda… i think lol. but omg can’t wait!
lazy to listen to the new OP though. can wait till the actual ep comes one… whenever that is = =” but if code geass eps are really really awsome, then i guess it would be worth the wait =]~

    2. “But what about the mob and Viletta?!?!”
That’s also a big question for me. As for the spoilers, I have expected some of them.
God, now we are waiting until August.. Dear them if they won’t start the second season in Winter, they had enough time >.

    3. Great news, I don’t buy much into those spoilers bosted by different mags, but we’ll see how close to fact they are. Either way if that pic says anything, then maybe CC and Lelouch will finally get whats coming to them. So many others have lost people they loved/liked and so forth. Sooner or later if you go around killing others, it’ll come back and bite you on the ass.

    4. Forget a third season of tsubasa, I want them to remake the second! it was terrible. Why make us wait six month from the end of the first season, to allow the manga to get ahead, if they were going to make it over 50% filler!

    5. thats sweet. Can’t wait for that. Still a little dissapointed that no more seasons. Maybe the ovas will clear things up. And I do agree with Kamui, the secind season was not at its best. But It worked. I’m still super glad that the manga will continue. Thanks for finding out the ovas. I wonder how many they’ll make.

    6. I hope Code Geass will air directly after the showings! More Lulu and C.C!

Hitomi no Tsubasa sounds quite good, but somehow the singer’s voice reminds me a bit of T.M Revolution.

“i would rather if they’d make a 3rd season of tsubasa instead of just an OVA~~”

The whole “Tokyo Arc” of Tsubasa Chronicles contains more story, twists and blood than all 26 episodes of Season 2, so… I’m fucking looking forward more Information O_O

    8. I thought that i would die, when i heard about tsubasa ova…damn, we will finally see acid tokyo ANIMATED :E
and ye, its not really sort of as there was already anouncement by clamp, that Ageha Ohkawa(one of CLAMP members) is already writing scripts for xxxholic’s Spider arc and tsubasa’s Tokyo arc animated adaptations.

    9. Oh no! Shirley might be crippled because of that freak of nature Nina?

I might not like Shirley as much as some other characters, but i still dont want to see her get crippled because some idiot cares too much for revenge to see whats around them…ah wait lelouch does that too doesnt he?

    10. I heard that the Tsubasa anime ending will mark the end of the manga. So maybe they are going to delay the anime until the manga ish ALMOST finished? Or they could just make an OVA. They REALLY should animate the next Tsubasa Season because the manga is just awesome

Actually…THat was planned, back then, when trc anime was still good…but during second season, CLAMP got really enraged on how animtors handled some arcs, so at the end of season2 CLAMP broke their contract with animation studio. It seems that both sides decided to break it at the same time, as animators said “that Fai’s past and tokyo stuff is “too heavy” to be in their creation”…and CLAMP were disappointed on how animation studio butchered their work.
So as of now, even the nhk website covering tsubasa has updated the faq to list “that there wont be third season”. Knowing this – the plans of “end at same time” broke too. As of Now, CLAMP insists on going Hirano’s way(on how he did Hellsing Ova’s after his manga was butchered by gonzo), though they dont know yet, if arcs after tokyo will be realeased too.

Anyway – it seems, that OVA will cover TOkyo events, so no worries, as we will still see the most awesome turning point, any manga has ever had…

    13. It looks pretty clear to me that that timer is just for the grand opening of the DS game site (which is exactly what’s written there). The timer is set to end on midnight July 17th – a full 4 days before the episodes premiere at the special premiere screening.

    14. Yup your right…
I can’t really read Japanese, only speak it (& with only one person who isn’t that good himself), & understand the basics…
      & I guess my math sucks also…
Still I’m interested in what type of game it will be… o_O

    15. Unless that image is hinting at C.C. becoming mortal once more… it doesn’t have that great of an effect. Looks more like mere bumps and bruises (compared to that initial head shot)

    16. Okay I should note, that there is already an Official website for Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations OVA 😀
      http://www.shonenmagazine.com/tsubasa_tokyo/

As far as is known, OvA will be animated by Production IG(the ones who did Tsubasa moovie)

Seems that the OAV will be split into three 25 (approx) minute episodes spread across three DVDs. Each DVD will chip with a regular edition of the Tsubasa manga starting with volume 21 due for release on the 21st of November. The manga with the DVD (3360 Yen) will cost more than the manga without it (about 500 Yen).

It is Confirmed, taht these three episodes will cover Acid Tokyo arc. If there will be other arcs “ova-ized”, it depends on how well TOkyo REVELATIONS will sell

    18. Gah! I just finished watching episode 23. Waiting another month and a half is going to be awful 🙁

Anyways, can’t wait to see what happens. Just like Euphie was able to overcome the Geass right before she died (I’m assuming because it was Suzaku, and her feelings of love is what overcame it), I’m guessing Shirley will experience the same. It’s obvious that they’re building up steam for her memory recovery. I just hope she doesn’t die too. That would be too cruel.

And now it seems everyone is out to kill Lelouch.

    19. @Cilo
Of course thats where the story gets good – in fact, entire storyline in manga up to acid tokyo was sort of build up, lil by lil changing the mood(you couldnt feel this in anime btw). And dont forget – BeeTrain and NHK are “Kids Friendly” companies – they would take out any blood or violence, and would make acid tokyo into an arc where trc cast would meet cardcaptors cast to have a tea party(knowing on how they handled the season2 of trc…it would indeed been possible…)
