Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation – 01
「最後の峰ヶ山」 (Saigo no mine ~ke yama)
“The Last Minegayama”
My goodness – can it really have been 21 months since Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road ended?

If you’re not a fan of sports anime, this might just be the one to change your mind. |
For all that there are myriad qualities that can make an anime great, there’s just no substitute for sincerity.
「フェイズ49」 (Feizu 49)
“Phase 49”
It almost feels like Yowamushi Pedal never went on break last season, considering how this episode jumped in right where the last ended – mid-way through the intense final stretch of the second day of the Inter High.
「アキバにタダで行けるから」 (Akiba ni Itta de Ikeru Kara)
“Because I can go to Akihabara For Free!”
It’s a good time to be a fan of sports anime.

Now that every show has had a few episodes to make its case, it’s time to tell you what we’ll be blogging this season. This is Random Curiosity’s Fall 2022 blogging schedule.
As per illustrious tradition, this is a tentative overview of our plans for the new season . . . or would be, but with multiple episodes under our belts, we’re pretty confident in our picks. Will some of them fall flat in the home stretch? Probably. This is what we’ll stick with for now, barring any unforeseen changes in the near future.

Now that every show has had a few several a whole bunch of episodes to make its case, it’s time to tell you what we’ll be blogging this season. This is Random Curiosity’s Winter 2018 blogging schedule.
As always, this is a tentative overview of our plans for the new season . . . is what we used to say, but with multiple episodes under our belts, we’re pretty confident in our picks. Will some of them blow up in our faces? This wouldn’t be as much fun if they didn’t. This is what we’re going with for now.
Now that Christmas is over, and all the kawaii bishoujo and suteki bishounen are finished with their Kurisumasu daitos, it’s time to talk about the next season of anime! This has all the makings of a terrific season, starting with a bunch of high-caliber adaptations, including Japan’s Lord of the Rings from the Record of Lodoss War guy Grancrest Senki, KyoAni’s hotly anticipated automaton assistants in Violet Evergarden, the no less anticipated humanoid android drama BEATLESS, and another spin of the servant battling wheel (with a twist!) in Fate/EXTRA Last Encore. The sequels are no slouches either, which includes such favorites as the bicycle speedsters of Yowamushi Pedal GLORY LINE, the shounen battlers of Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu, the dark lich lord of Overlord II, and, wonder of wonders, after twenty years, a sequel to one of the defining magical girl series with Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Hen. If that wasn’t enough, there are a smattering of originals as well, most notably Trigger’s newest sci-fi exploration Darling in the Franxx. There are a ton of promising series getting ready to air, so let us tell you about all of them. This is Random Curiosity’s Winter 2018 Preview!

Now that every show has had a few episodes to make its case, it’s time to tell you what we’ll be blogging this season. This is Random Curiosity’s Winter 2017 blogging schedule.
As always, this is a tentative overview of our plans for the new season . . . is what we used to say, but with multiple episodes under our belts, we’re pretty confident in our picks. Will some of them blow up in our faces? Probably. But this is what we’re going with.
Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the anime is so delightful. Or hopefully it is, which is what we’re here to find out. This season features some strong sequels, including the long-awaited return of the exorcist battle anime Ao no Exorcist, another hilarious adventure with the dysfunctional goofballs of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, a new generation in Yowamushi Pedal, and a second season of the universally lauded Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. Not to be outdone, there are new adaptations of several promising properties, including the cop/spy/bureaucratic drama ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-ka, the Seo Kouji 100% certified ragefest adaptation of Fuuka, the classic salesman-transformed-into-magic-loli war story (haven’t we seen that a million times) Youjo Senki, and a period property you’re probably unfamiliar with, but which Japan has been gobbling up for years in Onihei. There are only a few originals airing this season, but standing tall among them are the first full season (finally!) of Little Witch Academia and the spiritual successor (hopefully) to Amagami SS in Seiren. There’s more where those came from, so let’s get on with it so you can figure out what to watch. This is Random Curiosity’s Winter 2017 Preview!
As we’re all getting pumped up for the spring season, let’s not forget to reflect on the winter shows which recently ended. This post has been delayed (partially due to me) because we wanted to get all the shows wrapped up before doing our final impressions. This is reflective of most of the series our writers have finished this season and hopefully we can give you a good idea of shows you’ve missed which we thought were worthwhile. If there’s anything that we missed, please feel free to discuss those shows below and maybe it’ll give us some suggestions of what we should catch-up on. With that said, happy spring everyone! Hope it’s warm where you are!
