Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru – 12 (END)
「それ町」 (Sore Machi)
“That Town”
I have seen many different interpretations of what Heaven could actually be like, but I think Sore Machi’s version is the funniest I’ve ever seen.

「失意の果てに ~憎悪~」 (Shitsui no Hate Ni ~ Zouo ~)
“The Limits Of Despair ~ Hatred ~”
After such a depressing end to last week’s episode, I’m glad that the precursor to the finale ended on such a huge cliffhanger. I can’t remember a single arc in this series where I was on the edge of my seat only to get smashed in the face by the ending sequence.
「御馳走と卒業」 (Gochisou to Sotsugyou)
“Feast and Graduation”
While Bakuman still seems to be following one to one and a half chapters per episode, it feels like things are finally beginning to speed up. Putting the manga things aside, I really enjoyed how this episode focused on the relationship between Mashiro and Azuki. With Kaya in the picture, it was nice to see a normal girl’s perspective on the matter.
「紺先輩号泣の夏」 (Kon Senpai Goukyuu no Natsu)
“Kon Senpai’s Summer of Tears”
Besides Ahotori and Futabaka cracking jokes off of each other, this week’s episode really ramped up the level of Hotori fanservice. Plus, Moriaki-sensei finally makes his return!
「失意の果てに~凶刃~」 (Shitsui no Hate Ni ~ Kyoujin ~)
“The Limits of Despair ~ Assassin’s Dagger ~ “
While last week’s episode kind of foreshadowed that something was going to happen to Isshin, I never expected that he would go down as hard or as fast as he did. Under the circumstances, I’m still amazed that what happened, actually happened.
「穴ツッコミじいさん」 (Ana Tsukkomi Jiisan)
“The Finger-Pointing Geriatric”
I never thought Sore Machi could get weirder. Apparently, I thought wrong. From Aliens to Ghosts this episode dives headfirst into some strange topics. I should have seen this coming – especially since there was a real time traveler last episode.
「チョコとNEXT!」 (Choco to NEXT!)
“Chocolate and NEXT!”
It looks like everything in Bakuman has finally come full circle. While it answered most of the questions I had, it also raised a ton more in the process. Even so, I was surprised how fun this week’s episode was.
「それはあの日のこと、なので」 (Sore wa Ano Hi no Koto, Nanode)
“It’s About that Day”
Something about Tamayura always makes me smile. Somehow, someway, as the anime reveals more about our main characters I feel myself growing exponentially more attached to them.
「失意の果てに~告知~」 (Shitsui no Hate Ni ~ Kokuchi ~)
“The Limit of Despair ~ Announcement ~”
Coming down to the final stretch, Yakumo is on its final arc. While the amount of information they packed into this episode was staggering, I hope that all of this buildup is leading to a GREAT finale for the series. Three more episodes to go!
