Letter Bee – 13

「約束の大地」 (Yakusoku no Daichi)
“The Promised Land”

After the Christmas episode last time, it’s nice to see Niche clinging onto Lag’s arm again. Here, she accompanies him on a routine letter delivery which eventually mends the relationship between the sender and the recipient. Things were somewhat episodic, but at least Niche demonstrated some expert melee circle strafing for us.

Letter Bee – 12

「赤と緑のリボン」 (Aka to Midori no Ribon)
“Red and Green Ribbons”

Zazie is definitely the grouch of the holidays. With the Letter Bees dressing up as Holy Night messengers (i.e Santa) and delivering presents to less fortunate kids up north, he wasn’t enjoying it one bit and made sure Lag knew every step of the way. While the two of them team up for this special occasion, Niche is unhappy about being force to stay at the Bee-Hive, but finds some dingo companionship in Wasiolka.

Letter Bee – 11

「嘘テガミ」 (Uso Tegami)
“Letter of Lies”

This was an episode about a struggling writer sending a letter full of lies to his mother so that she doesn’t worry about him, but all I could focus on was the fact that Niche was wearing Sylvette’s underwear. Lag may fancy the thought of that, but all Niche can do is openly complain about how it rides up her crotch and butt. How is that not win?

HIMEKA – Hatenaki Michi PV (Letter Bee ED)

If you’ve been following my Letter Bee (Tegami Bachi) posts, there’s probably little need for me to go into how much I’ve been looking forward to the full version of the ending theme. Likewise with an introduction for HIMEKA, the French Canadian girl living out the anisong/otaku dream in Japan. As mentioned in my post a couple of weeks ago, the single for Hatenaki Michi (“Endless Road”) was released on November 25th. Back then, I also brought up how devoted fans were banding together to prevent her music from becoming “available” online. Because of that, I was debating whether or not I should even post the PV.

…More after the jump!

Letter Bee – 10

「光の下」 (Hikari no Shita)
“Under the Light”

The disgusting soup returns! We finally learn where Gauche got his questionable palette from as Sylvette proudly serves her original special soup. Appearance-wise it’s deceivingly delicious, but Lag and Niche are quick to inform us otherwise. How something can look that good yet taste like total crap is beyond me, but that mystery is nothing compared to the one concerning Gauche.

Letter Bee – 09

「泣き虫少年の誓い」 (Nakimushi Shounen no Chikai)
“The Crybaby Boy’s Vow”

Having lost his mother at the age of seven, and now the person he’s looked up to for the past five years at the age of twelve, can anyone really blame Lag for crying so much? I think some people have lost grasp of the fact this isn’t your standard shounen affair. Now that he’s been left Gauche’s Nocturne #20 Shindan Custom as a memento, come on people, let the boy cry a little.

Letter Bee – 08

「シルベット・スエードに会う」 (Shirubetto Sueedo ni Au)
“Meeting Sylvette Suede”

Nooo, not Gauche! When you take into consideration that Lag’s looked up to him for the past five years, and that Gauche is his motivation in life to this very day, his tears are completely understandable this time. I felt pretty sorry for Lag, but even more so for Sylvette, who’s lost all hope for her missing brother.

Letter Bee – 07

「ユウサリ中央(セントラル) 夜想道13番地 郵便館BEE-HIVE」 (Yuusari Chuuou (Sentoraru) Yasoukyoku Michi 13 Banchi Yuubinkan BEE-HIVE)
“Yuusari Central Nocturne Street #13 Post Office BEE-HIVE”

Damn, this show is such a tease. Just as I start settling into an episode, it ends the very next minute. I wish this series was already done airing so that I could marathon the whole thing in a day or two, but I guess that means they’re doing something right here.
