Chihayafuru – 24

「をのへのさくらさきにけり」 (Onoe no Sakura Saki ni keri)
“Nobody Wishes to See the Beautiful Cherry Blossoms”

After bonding with Chihayafuru for six months, I really want a finale next week that focuses on Chihaya, Taichi, and Arata (and preferably includes Harada and the Chibis) and touches the heart in the way only this show has been able to do lately.

Papa no Iu Koto wo Kikinasai! – 11

「逢いたい時にあなたはいない…」 (Aitai Tokini Anata wa Inai)
“You’re not There When I Want To See You…”

Even if this week’s episode didn’t tickle your fancy with certain scenes, there was still more than enough good material to balance out Sora’s insanely intricate and detailed fantasies. In a way, the story seems to have finally looped back to tackle the big problem that’s at least been on mind since the very beginning of the series — how does a college student raise three children while still maintaining his sanity?

Ozuma – 01

「砂のクジラ」 (Suna no Kujira)
“A Whale of Sand”

It’s been a long wait, but Spring’s finally here, as well as the new anime season. And so, to start things off, we have the Sci-Fi series, “Ozuma.” The first episode comes out a bit generic and has some cliches, but there’s definitely some potential here.

**The Season Preview should be out around the end of the week.

Shakugan no Shana III (Final) – 23

「神の夢」 (Kami no Yume)
“A God’s Dream”

After two whole seasons of twists and turns that have consistently lead to a direction that one may not have originally expected, this pre-finale episode in some strange fashion managed to wrap up almost every loose end in one go — something that I would have to chalk up to some good writing and a well disguised deus ex machina.
