Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon II – 03
「土上の下り者」 (Do Jou no Kudari-mono)
“Those Descending to the Surface”
A certain honorable pervert officially gets a romantic interest, while everyone’s favorite miserly merchant gets into a knock-out, throw-down, business negotiation knife fight. You don’t see that every day…though I wouldn’t mind if we did.
Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi – 04
「康秀と業平 文屋康秀」 (Yasuhide to Narihira Fun’ya no Yasuhide)
“Yasuhide and Narihira – Fun’ya no Yasuhide”
I guess bromance is still romance… kind of.
K-ON! Movie
「映画 けいおん」 (Eiga Keion)
“K-ON! Movie”
The wait is finally over. The lovable gals of the Light Music Club return for one last hurrah… and a spectacular one at that. A seamless blend of the slice of life, comedy, and musical elements the original series was known for, the K-ON! Movie marks its territory as one of the more notable animated works of the year.
Oda Nobuna no Yabou – 03
「美濃動乱」 (Mino Douran)
“The Mino Disturbance”
“Women are not tools of conquest.”
-Niwa “Scorekeeper” Nagahide
Blast From The Past: Eureka Seven
With Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean in full swing, there’s no better time to have a look back at the series that started it all: Eureka Seven (“Psalms of Planets”). Second only to Ghost in the Shell in terms of my favorites, the original series demonstrates what an anime should be, as well as how an anime can have its share of flaws but still be a masterpiece.
Hyouka – 13
「夕べには骸に」 (Yuubeniwa Okuroni)
“Dead at Dusk”
In all honesty, I wouldn’t really mind a few more episodes of this mindless but terribly interesting look at the inner-workings of our main cast.
Rinne no Lagrange 2 – 03
「鴨川エクスペリメント」 (Kamogawa Ekusuperimento)
“The Kamogawa Experiment”
This episode featured some of the finest yuri trolling I’ve ever seen, but it wasn’t that which had me staring wide-eyed at the screen when the episode came to a close. I feel like I just got hit by the plot bat…and I think I liked it.
Kuroko no Basuke – 16
「やろーか」 (Yarou ka)
“Let’s Do It”
Momoi could make a grade-S stalker with all her intel skills… she really could.
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita – 04
「妖精さんたちの、さぶかる」 (Yōsei-san-tachi no, Sabukaru)
“The Fairies’ Subculture”
In 22 minutes, Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita pretty much obsoleted Bakuman as a chronicle of the manga industry.
