IS Infinite Stratos – 07

「ブルー・デイズ/レッド・スイッチ」 (Buruu Deizu / Reddo Suicchi)
“Blue Days / Red Switch”

While the previous episode was about Charle’s coming out for the most part, this most recent one has Laura front and center to really mix things up. Her grudge with just about everyone is a welcomed development to help de-emphasize the harem aspect, which seems to have run away with the series lately. As enjoyable as that’s been, she’s definitely balancing things out for the better.

FRACTALE – 05

「旅路」 (Tabiji)
“Journey”

This may have been a character-oriented episode, focused on Nessa and her hide and seek pranks on board, but it was made much better with Phryne around. She’s still a marvel to me, given how blunt she was when she asked Clain if he loves her, and this time around she comes off as be a bit of a tomboy who doesn’t seem aware of how attractive she is.

Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector – 19

「龍虎王顕現」 (Ryuukoou Kengen)
“RyuKoOh’s Manifestation”

For an episode where the title made it clear that Bullet and Kusuha were due for an upgrade, Excellen more or less stole their thunder with her sudden and mysterious arrival in the Einst-modified Rein Weiss Ritter. She had the Hiryuu Custom completely at her mercy, and probably would have destroyed it too had Kyousuke not been on board.

STAR DRIVER: Kagayaki no Takuto – 19

「三人の日曜日」 (Sannin no Nichiyoubi)
“The Three’s Sunday”

After seeing Takuto and Sugata out of character in the preview and suspecting that something was up, it wasn’t all that surprising to learn that Kou and Madoka were the culprits behind it. It was a bit predictable in that sense, but that didn’t take away from what followed suit with some really tough maidens who aren’t so easily fooled.

Tegami Bachi REVERSE – 19

Is this the real reason Gauche left Gymnopedies behind? It might be time to retire Nocturne #12.

「悪意でなく、憎悪でなく」 (Akui de Naku, Zouo de Naku)
“Without Malice or Hatred”

For two guys driven by hatred, I loved the level of respect between Zazie and Jeel when they were in agreement that they can’t get along and had to fight one another. It put an interesting spin on what was in reality two victims who shouldn’t be fighting in the first place, but had to due to the upper echelons in Amberground doing as they please.

FREEZING – 06

「Machination」

Following her introduction last time, Rana is quickly stirring things up school-wide in ways that only make the story better for me as the viewer. Her forwardness with her feelings for Kazuya contrasts well with Satellizer’s reserved demeanor, and also forces our Untouchable Queen to take the initiative if she doesn’t want to lose her newly-partnered Limiter.

To Aru Majutsu no Index II – 18

「検体番号(シリアルナンバー)」 (Kentai Bangou (Shiriaru Nanbaa))
“Sample Number (Serial Number)”

Another awesome episode the very next week? Who would’ve thunk it? There was a bit of foreshadowing with Hyouka showing up, but this was an otherwise lighthearted affair with Accelerator and Last Order joining in on the fun. Definitely To Aru Majutsu no Index at its finest (…at least for me).

IS Infinite Stratos – 06

「ルームメイトはブロンド貴公子(ジェントル)」 (Ruumumeito wa Burondo Kikoushi (Gentoru))
“Roommate is a Blond Young Noble (Gentleman)”

After all the obvious hints dropped last time, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Charle is in fact Charlotte and not the second male in the world to be able to pilot an IS. What does come as a surprise is how Charlotte was able to conceal her voluptuous bust in that skintight pilot suit, and in ways that completely defy physics.
