“Naked Reincarnation”
Given the month-long break since I covered the early broadcast premiere of this series, I had totally forgotten that we’re dealing with a samurai high school comedy here. Well this second episode quickly reminded me of that, and didn’t hold back on the action either with some flashy fighting exposition to get things going.
Kuroneko said “handle name”, but all I heard was “handsonic” with the voice Hanazawa Kana used.
「俺が妹とオフ会に行くわけがない」 (Ore ga Imouto to Ofu Kai ni Iku Wake ga Nai)
“There’s No Way I’d Go to An Offline Meeting with My Sister”
If there’s one thing that this episode of Oreimo reiterated to me, it’s that there will never — and I mean NEVER — be an offline Random Curiosity meet as long as I’m running this blog. The last thing I need is some uptight person giving me an earful about covering shows like Kanokon and kiss x sis and how I should have some shame, before going off on a tangent and preaching to me about what’s morally acceptable in this world.

After going six months with Tegami Bachi and six months without, this second episode quickly reminded me of all the things I like about the series. Part of it is the somewhat laid-back nature, whereas another part of it is how it almost feels slice-of-life at times.

「未知なる声」 (Michi Naru Koe)
“Unknown Voice”
As someone who hasn’t played through the OG games, I was a bit surprised to see the legendary “Choukijin” machines RyuOhKi and KoOhKi show up so soon. I’m somewhat familiar with them from the Alpha storyline, but it leaves me wondering how newcomers to the franchise are expected to be able to grasp everything that’s going on.
Astraea may not be human, but if she looks this good, she can’t possibly taste that bad. Come on Tomoki. Man up!
「驚愕！天使は馬鹿（キョニュウ）だった！！」 (Kyougaku! Tenshi wa Baka (Kyonyuu) Datta!!)
“Surprise! The Angel’s a Big-Breasted Idiot!!”
Astraea arrives and makes quite the splash by face-planting herself into the ground. I knew she was pretty dumb as a Delta angeloid, but I didn’t expect her to be a complete klutz as well. No wonder Nymph and Ikaros completely cast her off as a cause for concern even after learning that she’s come to Earth to eliminate Tomoki.

“Nanasaki Ai Chapter 2 – Throbbing”
Despite the high probability of seeing a new opening in a two-cour series, I admittedly wasn’t expecting one with Amagami SS due to the unique endings every arc. That’s not to say I’m not grateful for it, as all the girls look great in the sequence. It also happens to feature Nanasaki Ai at the very end since we’re currently on her arc.

「世界はアイで動いている」 (Sekai wa Ai de Ugoiteiru)
“The World Runs on Love”
It’s a bit unusual to see Manglobe take on a series that can easily come off as a high school harem series, but that’s exactly the what we have with “The World God Only Knows”. The only other series they led the production for with character designs even close to the ones seen here was Seiken no Blacksmith.
