Sakamichi no Apollon – 04
“But Not For Me”
Really, it isn’t supposed to look so effortless as Watanabe-sensei is making it look.

(Igai no Irainin)
“A Surprising Client”
From blackmail to battleships, at this point there’s practically nothing that can catch Marika off guard… except maybe a kiss?
(Panda-kun Harikiru/Minna no Pafe)
“Panda Gets Enthusiastic/Everyone’s Parfair”
I call it: The Tragedy of Food Art
(Katte Eyo!)
“Win Your Earnings!”
I can’t speak for anyone else, but one yen seems a little too cheap to die for.
(Kesenai Yume)
“Eternal Dreams”
It’s hard not to be skeptical of AKB0048, both for fans and non-fans alike. We never asked for this. But this first episode of the genre blending idol-centric-dystopian-mecha-musical-science-fiction (whew) by the folks behind Macross does make a pretty damn good case for itself.
(Inga-ron)
“Episode 0”
The passage of time has only increased my appreciation for UN-GO.
“Musica Ex Machina Phase.2”
Jormungand ends its first multi-part arc with the best episode yet.
Over the past couple of years, Katou Tatsuya has very rapidly risen to be one of my all-time favourite soundtrack composers. While not yet as prolific as the likes of Kajiura Yuki or Kanno Yoko (neither of whom had any involvement with the soundtrack, in case I give that mistaken impression), I will not be remotely surprised to see him rank up there in the near future. Soundtracks of note are Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls, the recently concluded Mirai Nikki, and currently airing Medaka Box. Note: Possible Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon spoilers after the jump! |

(Meiyoaru Kotenbu no Katsudou)
“The Activities of the Classics Club and Its Honor”
If anything, I’d say this week’s episode of Hyouka was a lot more compelling than last weeks. Even though there weren’t any spectacular hair rape scenes, I thought this episode did a better job of telling its story and an even better job of portraying Houtaro’s nature. Now, if only it didn’t end on that damn cliffhanger…
