FAIRY TAIL – 124
「空白の7年」 (Kuuhaku no Shichi-nen)
“The Seven-Year Gap”
Oh Reedus, your imagination makes me laugh so much…

「世界で一番パパが好き」 (Sekai de Ichiban Papa ga Suki)
“I Love The World’s Best Papa”
I don’t know where PapaKiki pulled this one from, but this week’s episode may have been the best of them all. There was a lot of Hina, a bit of Sora, a pinch of Raika, and a whole lot of touching family moments.
「涯てより開く」 (Hateyori Hiraku)
“The End Over the Horizon”
After watching the finale a few times, I must say that I’m satisfied with what J.C. Staff has given us. While it may not have been exactly what I wanted, there was just enough nostalgia to tip this final episode from good to great.
「かたわ少女」 (Katawa Shoujo)
“Disability Girls”
Can you tell me what you think?
Can you see what I see?
Can you face your fears?
Can you stand up for yourself?
Can you seize the day?
Note: this post does not include any nudity or spoilers, so have no fear after the jump!
This is NOT an anime. This is a visual novel.
Without further ado, welcome to the first collaborative edition of the Random Curiosity season preview, now featuring more writers for you to love and adore than ever. (Please don’t stalk us too much though.) As you all probably know, Divine, our season preview writer/extraordinaire, is taking an indefinite hiatus so he has passed on the baton to the rest of us writers – and just in time for the spring preview too, which is generally one of the busiest seasons with 50 new shows and counting. As is standard fare, we have the usual batch of hotly anticipated sequels to recent shows such as Fate/Zero 2nd Season, Kimi to Boku 2, and Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? OF THE DEAD, but there are also sequels and spiritual successors to venerated older shows as well like Eureka Seven Astral Ocean, the return of the Saint Seiya franchise after 25 years, and the reunion of Cowboy Bebop’s director and composer for a new show after over ten. So dust off that TV, free up some hard drive space, or do whatever else it is you do to get ready, because this season looks highly promising. Long-awaited sequels, a diversity of genres, and a nice balance of original works and manga/light novel adaptations have filled the slate with many shows that merit more than just a passing glance, and made this is a season one where even the pickiest of viewers should be able to find something to enjoy.
— This preview will be kept at the top for the next while, so be sure to scroll past it or check the Recent Entries on your right for new posts.
— A season poll will be available a little later is available on the sidebar.
— Please forgive the tardiness of this preview, work on it wasn’t started until several weeks later than usual, due to the transition.
「堕ちた巨人」 (Ochita Kyojin)
“Fallen Giant”
This is the second anime this week where I felt a show prematurely killed off a character…
「世界を超えて」 (Sekai wo Koete)
“Crossing Over the World”
For the finale to one of the biggest sleeper hits of the season, I’m not sure if I particularly enjoyed the note things wrapped up on. Maybe the finer points were lost on me but I expected something much, much larger.
「(もれいづるつきのかげのさやけさ」 (Moreizuru Tsuki no Kage no Sayakesa)
“Moonlight, Clear and Bright”
I don’t want it to be true, but it is – this is the last Taichi Tuesday. I’m grateful to have had the chance to watch such a superb, heartfelt and thoroughly wonderful anime as Chihayafuru.
Many of you probably remember and greatly enjoyed the old Monthly Retrospectives, but unfortunately, they became too much work to put together because they were almost as time consuming as the season previews, except every month instead of every three. Then, I had a brilliant idea! What if Random Curiosity turned the written retrospectives into podcasts instead?
And so I set off to learn about podcasting. One of my friends introduced me to her friends at METANORN, another excellent anime blog who have graciously allowed me to be a guest on their METAVERSE podcasts. The fine people there were a lot of fun, and I learned a great deal about podcasting too – so please support me, RandomC, and METANORN by listening to their 15th podcast and let me know what you think!
The facepalm is because now you all know what I sound like, haha!
