Yuruyuri – 10

「修学旅行というが、私たちは一体何を学び修めたのだろう」 (Shuugaku Ryokou to Iu ga, Watashi-tachi wa Ittai Nani wo Manabiosameta no Darou)
“It’s a School Trip, but Exactly What are We Supposed to Have Learned?”

Yuruyuri has always been a mildly amusing series, but this is the first time an episode had me laughing helplessly, stopping to catch my breath, and then laughing helplessly again. I mean come on, Chitose’s bleeding through her eyes! How is that not funny?

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée The Animation – 10

「魔術幻燈 Fantasmagorie」 (Majutsu Gentou)
“Phantasmagoria”

If the goal of this episode was to make Oscar out as a fun-loving grandfather with all the cool toys, it worked wonderfully in that regard. Enseignes du Roy sure has a different atmosphere to it when Claude isn’t around.

WORKING’!! – 01 (Pre-Airing)

「ぽうらの意地」 (Popura no Iji)
“Popura’s Disposition”

Just like its first season, the sequel to Working pre-airs its first episode a month ahead of its scheduled fall season start. The opening and ending sequences along with their themes “COOLISH WALK” and “Itsumo no you ni LOVE & PEACE!!” were similarly withheld for the regular premiere, but this was otherwise a full 24-minute dose of all things Wagnaria once again — now with an apostrophe in the title.

Ouran High School Host Club (Drama) – 07

「Episode 7」

Well it looks like my doubts about Haruhi’s father “Ranka” making an appearance were quickly put to rest, as the drama does provide its own take on the house visit. Much to my surprise, Totsugi Shigeyuki played him amazingly well — as well as one could probably expect from a cross-dressing father anyway.

BLOOD-C – 08

「よのなかよ」 (Yo no Naka Yo)
“A World Within The World”

Blood-C is still a ways off from redeeming itself from the sluggish start, but it’s finally giving me something to go on. The action picked up with Elder Bairns’ attacks in broad daylight, and most importantly, there’s enough of a story for me to anticipate where things might be headed.

Mawaru Penguindrum – 08

「君の恋が嘘でも僕は」 (Kimi no Koi ga Uso demo Boku wa)
“Even If Your Love is a Lie, I…”

They say that opposites attract, so I’d like to believe the Shouma x Ringo pairing that’s been played up will see the light of day at some point. Maybe all it takes to get through to a psychopath like Ringo is someone risking their life to save hers.
