Continuing off of last week’s momentum, this second episode of Isshuukan Friends brought a nice balance of exposition with some downright heartbreaking scenes. Heartbreaking scenes god damnit.

I don’t think I’ve ever said this, but this was probably the first time I’ve felt a little let down from an anime adaptation after having read a little of the source material.

After hyping up its release in my mind way more than I should have, Isshuukan Friends finally kicks off my spring season (Disclaimer: I did watch Mahouka, and I thought it was awesome).

“How To Talk About Love Properly, Long-Range Attack, Hair Showing, Cherry Blossom Sky”
I think we all saw it coming, but boy was this last episode a huge let down in terms of relationship development. While we did get some cute fighting between all of Tsuda’s potential love interests, it looks like all he’ll ever achieve is being labeled as a slave. That and it seems like until we get a third season, we have an infinitely looping season two.

Unless I get a nice surprise next week and discover another episode of Tonari no Seki-kun (or I’m enlightened by a legitimate source), this week marks the end of one of a great 10-minute anime that you may or may not have picked up.
Boy wouldn’t it be awkward if this wasn’t the finale?

After another season of one of the cutest love stories I’ve ever seen, it comes to a rather predictable end. But who says that predictable can’t also mean awesome?
Because not much happened in the episode, it’ll just be a huge final impression post! More after the break!

After all of last week’s buildup and watching this episode through to the very end, I feel a little conflicted over the message I think this arc was trying to tell. Then again, my emotions are all kinds of screwed up after watching Kill La Kill and researching One Week Friends — so who knows!
