Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru – A Hero’s Despair, & Hope

Our heroes.

The most surprising show of the season ends with more surprises. We thought it was slice-of-life, it turned out to be magical girl combat, and then it got dark. The question is: how did it fare in the end, and how does it measure up?

Trinity Seven – 12 (END)

「聖戦少女(クリミナルガール)と魔王世界(ヒズワールド)」 (Seisen Shoujo (Kuriminarugaaru) to Maou Sekai (Hizuwaarudo))
“Criminal Girl and His World”

Trinity Seven ends as it went on … with eccentric girls and a confident harem lead at odds with shifty pacing, production values, and plot. Last episode wasn’t bad though.

Winter 2015 Preview!

Winter is here, and with it comes another season of anime. This is a light season, with only 31 new series airing. There are some familiar names, including another TV movie-style entry into the Monogatari series, Tsukimonogatari, the speedy return of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, the second half of the trainwreck fantastic spectacle ALDNOAH.ZERO, and more ghoul horror from Tokyo Ghoul. The wildly popular manga Ansatsu Kyoushitsu is also finally getting its anime, as is the perhaps even more popular ship girl video game, Kancolle. This season even features the long-awaited return of Durarara!! That’s just a taste, so read on for the full scoop.

Inou Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de – Defying Categorization

I am the bone of my sword.

It’s hard to put Inou Battle in a box, because it refuses to go into one. Slice-of-life, probably, and harem and comedy too, but what of the drama, the heartfelt feelings, or the surprisingly brutal turn at the end? It’s hard to define, but one thing’s for sure: It was entertaining all the way through.
