Last Exile -Ginyoku no Fam- – 02
「Fool’s mate」
After two episodes, I really have no idea what Gonzo is trying to accomplish with this continuation of the Last Exile saga. My sincere hope is that they do.

「魔槍の刃」 (Masou no Yaiba)
“The Demon Spear”
I can’t help but wonder if it’s okay for ufotable to produce a television series — a television series — that looks as amazing as Fate/Zero does, because they’re setting the bar really high for other studios — to the point that I can’t see most of them producing something that matches up.
「ひとりぼっちの気持ち」 (Hitoribocchi no Kimochi)
“The Feeling of Being Alone”
Well it sure didn’t take long for Kuroi and Jupiter to start sabotaging 765 Pro’s rising success again. I guess I should be grateful that there was even an episode in between where I didn’t have to see their cocky mugs.
「適者 survival of the fittest」 (Tekisha)
The Power of Kings along with a gorgeous singer saying she’s mine and all I have to do is help liberate my country in return? Where do I sign up for that? I’ll take two please.
「世界を救う者」 (Sekai wo Sukuu Mono)
“The Savior of the World”
There’s little question that Ikuhara Kunihiko has a unique direction with anime, but I don’t even want to know what goes on in that head of his given the twisted developments in Mawaru Penguindrum as of late.
「We are friends, aren’t we?」
For all the Chie fans out there, this was your episode. If you thought that she couldn’t get any cuter, just wait until you see the young Chie meeting Yukiko for the first time.
「麦藁色をかぶった少年」 (Mugiwara-iro wo Kabutta Shounen)
“The Straw-Colored Boy”
A new character might be exactly what this series needs.
「街中の遊撃手」 (Machijyuu No Yuugekisyu)
“Commandos in Town”
If these past few episodes are trying to build up to something amazing, things really need to get kicked into high gear. For a show that can justify having a encyclopedia devoted to solely listing how each character is linked to another, I expect it to be at least somewhat interesting!
「無情のうた」 (Mujō no Uta)
“Pitiless Song”
If the measure of a second episode is to be better than the first, then this week’s UN-GO certainly passed the test. What it didn’t do is finish the job of convincing me that this is going to be a compelling series.
