Nichijou – 01
「日常1」 (Nichijou 1)
“My Ordinary Life 1”
Finally! A show done by KyoAni! Plus, I was delighted to watch my expectations from the OVA completely get obliterated (in a good way) as I sat on the edge of my seat wanting more.

「勇者誕生!」 (Yuusha Tanjou!)
“Birth of a Hero!”
I should have known better with the director and screenwriter of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha behind this original anime by Seven Arcs, but that doesn’t change how I feel pretty cheated with the way they purposely misled me with premise for DOG DAYS.
「The Return – 集結」 (Shuuketsu)
Marvel and Madhouse Studio’s third of four collaboration projects kicks off the start of the spring season and begins with a bang, showing when Jean Grey (Hino Yurika) was manipulated by Mastermind and went out of control as Dark Phoenix.
「武装集団(スキルアウト)」 (Busou Juudan (Sukiru Auto))
“Armed Group (Skill-Out)”
For a short two-episode arc that coincides with the conclusion of this second season, there was actually a fair bit of lead-in to what’s around the corner, suggesting that this is the foundation for a third season sometime down the road. We’ll probably be seeing more of GROUP after Touma and Accelerator cleaned up most of Skill-Out, after the latter cornered their leader Ritoku and caused him to commit suicide over being killed.
「夢縁」 (Muen)
“Nightmare”
You know, it might have been a good idea if all this information about Mistletainn was given last episode, perhaps somehow during the battle, a little flashback here and there. Maybe then when Mistletainn retreats, it wouldn’t look like she had ADD.
「楽園」 (Rakuen)
“Paradise”
There was definitely no shortage of surprise developments to make this episode befitting of a finale, but I admittedly found the impact of them all much less than it could have been. I attribute that primarily to quickly tying up all the loose ends and leaving little time for anything to sink in, such as the deaths of various characters.
「放浪息子はどこまでも ~Wandering son’s progress~」 (Hourou Musuko wa Doko made mo ~Wandering son’s progress~)
“Always a Wandering Son ~Wandering son’s progress~”
This was certainly a satisfying finale. Slice of life doesn’t really ever conclude since there is no central plotline to start with, but there was some closure and previous events were alluded to, making it feel somewhat like the conclusion of an essay. For one, I would say the three main characters Nitori, Takatsuki and Saori have definitely made up, after their friendship broke up before the events of the anime.
「祭りのあと」 (Matsuri no Ato)
“After the Festival”
The new couple find some difficulties with acceptance, but eventually pull through as the series smoothly wraps up into a beautiful close.
「君の名は(ユア・ネーム・イズ)」 (Kimi no Na wa (Yua Neemu Izu))
“Your Name Is”
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Charlotte just as much as the next person after seeing the amazing chemistry she had with Ichika, but deep-down inside I have to root for the girl who’s loved Ichika the longest and suddenly had to deal with a swarm of foreigners flocking around him.
