Well, this sure was an intense episode. From the way it began, with Mamiya Yumi’s (Gibu Yuko) stylish introduction, you would think that this would be a mere comedy episode dedicated to her. Instead, we took a completely different turn and picked up from where the story left off with Yuno’s trauma.

“Nanasaki Ai Chapter 3 – Transformation”
I think I just watched some “ramen porn”, whatever the heck that means. Aside from some surreal vibes during Junichi and Ai’s date at the amusement park, this episode also showcased an emotional side to the story not yet seen in the three arcs prior.

I don’t know what Keima’s on, but who wouldn’t want a cutie-pie like Elsie as their younger sister? As a bonus, she’ll even join you in the bath to scrub your butt. Those demon cleaner girls seem to be pretty kinky with their magical pink garments down in hell.
“Oh my god I totally forgot I can breathe underwater!”

So apparently squid girls are so dumb, they forget that they can breathe underwater and start panicking like they’re going to drown. It’s probably not fair to draw conclusions on the whole squid people race based on Ika Musume, but it’s really all I have to go on so that’s what I’m going to do!

It’s almost as if writers this season are having the time of their lives scripting fake-outs and parodies in their premiere episodes. Well in Sora’s case, her tease had me thinking that Haruka should have responded with, “Oh I’ll size you up all right.”

Given the month-long break since I covered the early broadcast premiere of this series, I had totally forgotten that we’re dealing with a samurai high school comedy here. Well this second episode quickly reminded me of that, and didn’t hold back on the action either with some flashy fighting exposition to get things going.
Kuroneko said “handle name”, but all I heard was “handsonic” with the voice Hanazawa Kana used.
「俺が妹とオフ会に行くわけがない」 (Ore ga Imouto to Ofu Kai ni Iku Wake ga Nai)
“There’s No Way I’d Go to An Offline Meeting with My Sister”
If there’s one thing that this episode of Oreimo reiterated to me, it’s that there will never — and I mean NEVER — be an offline Random Curiosity meet as long as I’m running this blog. The last thing I need is some uptight person giving me an earful about covering shows like Kanokon and kiss x sis and how I should have some shame, before going off on a tangent and preaching to me about what’s morally acceptable in this world.
