Gundam 00 Series 2 – CM2

 

A new Gundam 00 commercial aired today after CODE GEASS R2, and it’s got a lot of juicy bits – much more than the first commercial. Among other things, it looks like Wang Liu Mei grew up (her new haircut makes her look kind of evil), Saji’s going to be getting a bigger piece of the action, Louise is going to become a pilot, Allelujah is restrained insane-asylum style, and the Ptolemaios is back (or at least a variation of it). The song (probably the OP) accompanying the commercial sounds like it’s by UVERworld, but I was wrong about CODE GEASS R2 and ORANGE RANGE back when R2’s commercials were airing, so it’s entirely possible that this could be someone else as well. In any case, this was more than enough to get me excited about the continuation, and Gundam 00 should make the loss of R2 easier to handle come October.

Server Move Complete

  • If you’re reading this, then the DNS changes have propagated and you’re now seeing Random Curiosity on its new server.
  • We had a weird hiccup where certain pieces of Javascript were causing people using Internet Explorer to be unable to see the site, but I’ve just fixed that. If you see any other problems, leave a comment here or send me an email.
  • Many thanks to my friends at Maximum 7 for their help serving images for the past few weeks, to Mentar for helping us get the new server, and to community admin Maestro for getting everything up and going.

  • It was announced in Megami Magazine that there is a Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha movie coming early next year. The movie will not be a reedit of the first series but will instead be an alternate retelling.
  • Romantic comedy manga Asu no Yoichi! is getting an anime adaptation.
  • Upcoming fall series Kemeko Deluxe! now has an official blog.
  • The official website for upcoming fall series To Aru Majutsu no Index is now hosting a promo video.
  • The TV anime adaptation for Kyou no Go no Ni has been confirmed for this fall.
  • The official website for the upcoming Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei OADs is now open.
  • And finally, here’s an odd story: Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal front-paged an article about Lucky Star and how it’s affecting the Washinomiya Shrine area. You may remember this topic from various sources all throughout last year when Lucky Star popularity was at its peak. Now, I understand that the WSJ editors like to use non-standard stories that relate to businesses and people making money, and it’s cool to see something from our neck of the woods make it into the mainstream, but I still have to question the newsworthiness of this article for their front page, never mind the fact that they also included pictures of crossplayers. Perhaps I’m just holding the Wall Street Journal to too high a standard. Thanks Keith for the heads-up.

  • Upcoming fall series Kuroshitsuji has a website now, and on it is a 2-minute promo video. It requires Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player though, so I’ve uploaded it for those of you who have troubles getting it to play.
  • Nitroplus game Chaos;Head is getting an anime adaptation this fall, and they’ve opened a new website for it.
  • You may remember that last year around this time NTV aired a three-hour Death Note special that covered the entire L arc. Well they’ve announced that they’ll be airing another one on August 22nd, this time covering the Near/Mello arc.
  • Web series Axis Powers Hetalia is getting an anime adaptation.
  • Junjou Romantica 2 has been confirmed to start in October of this year.
  • The Queen’s Blade anime adaptation now has a website.
  • MOON PHASE reports that the Seto no Hanayome OVA will be released on November 28.
  • Nodame Cantabile Paris Chapter will start on October 9 in the Thursday night noitaminA timeslot.
  • The Macross Frontier Superlive was last night, and mainichi.jp has pictures and a report from the event. Pretty much all the songs from the series were performed, including Kanno Yoko herself playing a piano/ballad version of Triangular to Sakamoto Maaya‘s singing. Nakajima Megumi and May’n finished the concert by performing the new OP Lion together. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the new OP will premiere on this upcoming week’s episode.
