Aoi Eir – MEMORIA PV (Fate/Zero ED)

It feels like it’s been forever since I last posted about a music video, but the ending theme for the upcoming Fate/Zero anime caught my attention in all the promo videos and made me want to share the clip that recently showed up on new female artist Aoi Eir’s website. (For whatever reason, they don’t want to reveal her face just yet.)

I found myself rewatching the Fate/Zero character clips just to hear parts of the chorus, so it’s nice to finally hear more of the song. The full version’s floating around the Internet airwaves ahead of its October 19th release date too, having been played over the radio. I’ve included it below for your listening pleasure (and to get it stuck in your head like it is mine). Judging from the season poll, Fate/Zero is one of the most anticipated new shows this fall, so it looks like I’m not the only one who’s going to be hearing a lot of this song.

* Updated with full version of PV.

Ouran High School Host Club (Drama) – 09

「Episode 9」

The Ouran High School Host Club drama isn’t quite over yet, but a movie announcement has already been made. The timing for it seems appropriate, coming off an episode about Haruhi and Hikaru’s first date that gave a healthy dose of everything this live-action adaptation has to offer.

Kami-sama Dolls – 12

「暴走」 (Bousou)
“Out of Control”

The girls in Kami-sama Dolls are completely off the chain, be it Utao, Mahiru, or Kuuko. The stuff they do never ceases to amaze me even by anime standards. Structured and predictable progression can’t hold these girls down, as they do whatever the hell they want in any given situation. Homicide? Pssh, oh please. Kakashi going out of control? Not on Mahiru’s watch!

Usagi Drop – 10, 11 (END)

「おなかのかぜ」 (Onaka no Kaze)
“Stomach Flu”

After finally getting around to watching the final two episodes, I am no less impressed. With the same mood and atmosphere that has prevailed throughout the last three months, Bunny Drop ends on a quiet, sentimental note, with no sign of the much mentioned “controversial” time-skip and ending.

Fall 2011 Preview!

Another year of anime is drawing to a close, but not before the long-awaited fall season. While the number of shows pales in comparison to the 43 offered in spring, the quality of the 25 new titles is a lot higher. There are numerous sequels and spiritual successors: The third and final season of Shakugan no Shana, studio GONZO’s big return with a new Last Exile eight years later, the prequel to Type-Moon’s Fate/stay night, and more of our favorite squid girl, Ika Musume. In addition, we have plenty of original series, including a new Gundam and two noitaminA shows by BONES and Production I.G. Equally impressive is the fact that many of which are slated for two-cour. Anime fans everywhere should be excited. I know I am.

Note: I purposely left out Digimon Xros Wars: Toki wo Kakeru Shounen Hunter-tachi and Cross Fight B-Daman from this preview because they’re targeted towards younger audiences. If you’re interested in either, feel free to check out their official sites.

* A season poll is available on the sidebar. It will automatically close on October 1st at 12:00 AM PST to coincide with the start of the season.
* This preview will be kept at the top for the next while, so be sure to scroll past it or check the Recent Entries on your right for new posts.

Yuruyuri – 12 (END)

「みんなでポカポカ合宿へ」 (Minna de Pokapoka Gasshuku e)
“A Passionate Overnight Stay with Everyone”

While all the Kyouko melodrama last time would’ve worked fine as a finale, an episode where the Fun Club and Student Council let loose with animal pajamas, reluctant cosplaying, oil barrel baths, and lesbian kissing works just as well if not better.

Natsume Yuujin-chou San – 12

「帰る場所」 (Kaeru Basho)
“A Place To Go Home To”

Natsume Yuujinchou gives us its strongest episode since 08 with its penultimate effort, a nice hybrid of the themes of the third season with the emotional tug of the first two. But whether I was supposed to or not, I felt a little conflicted about events at the end of the episode.
