Hanasaku Iroha – 21

「蘇る、死ね」 (Yomigaeru, Shine)
“Rebirth of the word Die

After somewhat redeeming her character back during the movie arc, I was sorely disappointed with all the backtracking Takako’s done this week. After years of fooling around at Kissuiso trying to implement ridiculous ideas at the expense of the people who work there, I don’t know how she’d expect Okami to just let the past go.

Nichijou – 21

「日常21」 (Nichijou 21)
“My Ordinary Life 21”

It’s been a while since we had an episode that focused on mostly side characters, but this one was a lot more entertaining than the past ones. I’m not sure who the current director of the show is, but I’m glad that Nichijou has stopped throwing side characters into ridiculously random situations; instead, going for the more slice of life situations with the right kinds of random thrown in.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! – 07

「僕とのぞきと遥かなる桃源郷っ!」 (Boku to Nozoki to Harukanaru Tougenkyou)
“Me, Peeping, and the distant Shangri-La”

When you’re manhandled into a corner by the opposite gender, the only acceptable counterattack is too bring a bigger gun to the gun fight. Or in this case, enough guys to mow down all the opposing forces.

Kami-sama no Memo Chou – 07

「僕にできるすべて」 (Boku ni Dekiru Subete)
“Everything I Can Do”

While this episode started out a little anti-climatic, with nothing really occurring to push the plot along, it really did well in illustrating what Narumi means to everyone. As the newest member of this group of NEETs and Thugs, color me surprised that he holds such strong emotions for a group of people he barely even knows.

Dantalian no Shoka – 06

「焚書官」 (Funsho-kan)
“The Book Burner”

I guess in judging this episode, one has to look at it both in context and in terms of pure stand-along entertainment value. To tackle the latter first, I guess I’d say it was pretty good. But to finally judge this ep in the context of the series as presented, I’m not overly pleased.

Mayo Chiki! – 07

「駆け落ちしよう」 (Kakeochi Shiyou)
“Let’s Run Away!”

I’ve been thinking this entire time, “Would there be any way for Konoe to slip into girl form while still maintaining the façade of being a male?” And coincidentally, it seems like an answer has been dropped into the palm of my hands. I’m sure everyone here loves Konoe dressed up as Suzutsuki’s male butler, but I’d love to see more of this.
