Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi – 02

「うそつきおおかみさんと亮士くん」 (Usotsuki Ookami-san to Ryoushi-kun)
“The Lying Wolf and Ryoushi”

Well if anyone thought Ryoushi was a wimpy male lead last time, this week shows the manlier side of him that only comes out when Ryouko’s in danger. With his pet dogs Elizabeth and Francois, we learn first-hand exactly how he’s modeled after the Hunter.

STRIKE WITCHES 2 – 01

「再び空へ」 (Futatabi Sora he)
“To The Skies Again”

Six months after the liberation of Gallia from the Neuroi, Miyafuji Yoshika (Fukuen Misato) is back in Fuso and receives a mysterious letter from her deceased father containing blueprints of some sort.

RAINBOW: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin – 14

「Revenge」

Details behind Baremoto’s plan aside, the boys’ revenge on Sasaki did turn out more or less like I was expecting. The same goes for Ishihara, whom Mario deemed too worthless to kill after learning how Sakuragi gave him Hagino’s note to try and end things once and for all.

Nurarihyon no Mago – OP/ED

OP: “Fast Forward”
by MONKEY MAJIK
ED: “Sparky☆Start”
by Hirano Aya, Horie Yui, Maeda Ai

Another series I wasn’t planning to post about is the adaptation of the long-running shounen manga, “Nurarihyon’s Grandson”. However, after watching the premiere episode the other day, the cute ending sequence made me want to get some sort of post out about it.

K-ON!! – 14

「夏期講習!」 (Kaki Koushuu!)
“Summer Course!”

We’re past the halfway point of this sequel’s run, which means we have new opening and ending themes! I don’t know what the deal is with getting Toyosaki Aki to sing high pitched songs this season, but “Utauyo!! MIRACLE” has a very similar sound to the first opening, “GO! GO! MANIAC”.

Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin – 01

「マヤの予言」 (Maya no Yogen)
“MAYA’s Prophesy”

Anime no Chikara’s third project aired today and proved to be the awesome supernatural comedy it was made out to be. Best of all, it’s already been picked up as a simulcast on Crunchyroll, meaning that subs will be readily available unlike Senkou no Night Raid.

HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD – 01

「Spring of the DEAD」

After several hiatuses on the manga, an oddly surprising adaptation appeared out of nowhere for HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD, and today, here we are.

SEKIREI ~Pure Engagement~ – 01

「静ナル予兆」 (Shizu Naru Yochou)
“A Quiet Omen”

Today marks the start of the normal broadcast of the SEKIREI sequel, which had an early broadcast premiere almost three weeks ago like I mentioned before. As I was busy working on the Summer 2010 Preview at the time, I purposely held off for the cleaner screen captures that you see here.

GIANT KILLING – 14

「#14」

After four consecutive episodes of the ETU versus Nagoya Gran Palace match, it looks like things are finally taking a break from the nonstop action to set up the next arc of the story.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – 64 (END)

「旅路の涯」 (Tabiji no Hate)
“The Horizon of a Journey”

I admittedly read the remaining portions of the final chapter of the manga after watching episode 63 last week, so I wasn’t in for too many surprises in this epilogue episode. Unfortunately, they didn’t add anything new — such as Ed and Al’s reaction to Hohenheim’s passing which I would’ve liked to see — but the rest of it played out really nicely.

Seitokai Yakuindomo – 01

「桜の木の下で/毎回続くのこの感じ!?/とりあえず脱いでみようか」
(Sakura no Ki no Shita de / Maikai Tsuzuku no Kono Kanji!? / Toriaezu Noide Miyou ka)
“Under the Sakura Tree / Is It Like This Every Time!? / To Start, Let’s Try Undressing”

Well I’m impressed. GoHands may be going with a similar style as Princess Lover in this adaptation of a 4-koma gag manga, but it’s still a noticeable step up from their work there.

Shukufuku no Campanella – 01

「流星群の夜」 (Ryuuseigun no Yoru)
“Night of the Meteor Shower”

I wasn’t planning to post about this series at all, but AIC continues to produce amazing-looking series even when they’re taking on five concurrently this season, so I wanted to share some thoughts on their adaptation of Windmill‘s adult visual novel game.

Mitsudomoe – 01

「丸井家!良い子 悪い子 恐ろしい子!!」 (Marui-ke! Yoi Ko Warui Ko Osoroshii Ko!!)
“The Marui Family! Good Girl, Bad Girl, Dreadful Girl!!”

Bridge may be a new studio, but makes a strong first impression with their adaptation of the elementary school gag manga centering around the sixth grade Marui triplets — Mitsuba (Takagaki Ayahi), Futaba (Akesaka Satomi), Hitoha (Tomatsu Haruka).
